Shoebox Ministry

As always, MRBC will be participating in the Shoebox program this year...with a twist. Since our students bonded so well with the childen in Port Arthur this summer, we have decided for them to be the recipients of the shoeboxes this year. The items for the shoeboxes will be very similar to what we have provided in the past, and we are now able to include liquides, lotions and aerosol products, where were previously excluded, since the shoeboxes will be delivered by our students before Christmas via pick up truck. The cost for delivering the boxes will be $5 and it will offset the cost to send a few of the students and adults to Port Arthur to make the delivery. • School/Art Supplies: pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons, markers, stamps and ink pads, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring books.

• Toys: “matchbox” cars, balls, dolls (ethnic specific), stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yo’s, jump ropes, small Etch-a-Sketch, Slinky, Play-Doh.

• Hygiene Items: Shampoo/Conditioner (any size OK), bar soap, combs, brushes, light scents (gender and age appropriate), lip gloss, ChapStik. We have received a generous donation of dental hygiene products.

• Clothes: t-shirts, pants, jackets (gender, age and size specific), gloves, scarves, socks, ball caps.

• Books: Bibles, childrens books (age specific)

• Miscellaneous: Candy (any kind, individually wrapped), mints, gum, hair clips and bows, watches.

• Any size box is acceptable.
• Do not wrap your box.
• Include $5 for shipping (checks only please made payable to MRBC, with "shoebox" in the memo)
• Prepare box for a specific gender and age range (2-4, 5-8, 9-12). Labels will be made available at drop off for your box.
• Drop off by December 6 in the designated box in the Lobby.
